What are people saying about our Sunday Salon - Meet the Musicians?
From Virginia Hubbell, Sonoma, CA
Dear Sonoma Valley Jazz Society,
I was fortunate to attend the Society's Sunday Salon, Jazz at the Community Center event on February 24th. Brian Nova was the featured artist. I want to write to express my gratitude for sponsoring this venue. It was, in a word, fantastic. I have lived in Sonoma for 30 years, and been involved with numerous Bay Area jazz events, both as a jazz fan, and as a funder, both professionally as a philanthropist, and personally. Over the years I've had the opportunity to witness concerts and events of many Bay Area jazz programs, including those of SF Jazz, and the recent concerts of Sonoma Jazz. I only wish they would add similar venues like this Sunday Salon. The big concerts are great, but this intimate setting, with a brilliant high quality artist like Brian Nova who has such skill, both musically, and as a raconteur and teacher, really made a strong impact. It was so personal. I felt like I had been specially selected to be in the close presence of greatness. It also made me glad I live in Sonoma and don't have to drive to other places to experience the up close and personal.
This type of venue is a real gift, and has the opportunity to help raise funds for the Society and those programs associated with it.
Keep up the creative and wonderful work.
Sincerely,
Virginia Hubbell
